Stevenson, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened up their 2014 season with a non-conference loss to Catholic, 9-0.
In No. 1 singles, senior Svetlana Widell picked up three games in the first set, but fell to Catholic's Eliana Martinez, 6-3, 6-1.
In the closest match of the day, freshman Colleen Martin lost in two sets to Catholic's Sarah McLean, 6-3, 6-4.
In No. 2 doubles, sophomore Ashley Pinter and Martin picked up four games in an 8-4 loss to Sarah McLean and Rachel Stone.
The Mustangs compete again when they host York (Pa.) on Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 am.
