Widell Posts Mustangs' Lone Victory in 8-1 Loss to Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. - Junior Svetlana Widell posted her second-consecutive victory at No. 2 singles but the Stevenson women's tennis team dropped their third-straight Freedom Conference contest Wednesday afternoon, falling to Arcadia 8-1 at Weiss Courts.

Widell posted Stevenson's lone victory, defeating Arcadia's Allyson Naiken 6-4, 6-3, to pick up her fourth win this season.

Despite forcing three sets in each of their matches, senior Jordan Rupard and freshmen Bailey Hagen and Ashley Pinter could not pick up victories at No. 3, 5, and 6 singles, respectively.

In doubles action, the No. 1 pair of Pinter and senior Susannah Hoblitzell combined to post six games against their opponents, the most games earned in a doubles match this afternoon.

The Mustangs return to action Saturday, April 12 when they host a Freedom Conference contest versus Wilkes at the Greenspring Tennis Courts beginning at 1:00 p.m.
