Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Junior Kayleigh Guzek totaled a game-high 12 points in a game that held no seeding implication for the Stevenson women's basketball team, as the Mustangs dropped the final game of the regular season to Lebanon Valley 50-36 Saturday at LVC Gymnasium.
With the win, the Dutchmen (20-5, 14-4 MAC) finished in a three-way tie for first place and will be the top-seed in the Commonwealth Conference and host the winner of fourth-seeded Stevenson versus fifth-seeded Lycoming on Wednesday, February 26.
The Mustangs (13-12, 11-7 MAC) finished the game just 16-for-52 from the floor for a season-low 36 points while also attempting a season-low two free throw.
Sophomore Ruth Casadevall scored the games first four points and Guzek added a three-pointer to give Stevenson a 7-4 lead. However, the Dutchmen outscored the Mustangs 17-7 the rest of the half to hold a 21-14 lead at the break.
A layup by Guzek to open the second half would cut the deficit to five, but that would be as close as Stevenson would get as Lebanon Valley pushed its lead to 20 with 13:03 remaining.
Guzek finished the game 5-of-7 from the floor while also grabbing a team-high five rebounds. Casadevall chipped in eight points.
Lebanon Valley, who held a 45-32 rebounding advantage, was led by Caitlin Bach who finished with 12 points and Peyton Carper who grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Stevenson will host Lycoming on Monday, February 24 in the first round of the Commonwealth Conference Women's Basbetball Tournament. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. The Mustangs and Warriors split their two meetings this season with each team winning at home.
