Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Stevenson women's basketball team shot just 29.5 percent from the floor compared to 45.6 percent for Elizabethtown as the Blue Jays posted their third-straight win over the Mustangs, a 69-48 Commonwealth Conference victory Wednesday at Thompson Gymnasium.
The Mustangs (8-8, 6-3 MAC), who dropped their second-straight game, are giving up an average of 67.6 points per game in their losses while only giving up 51.3 in their wins.
A three-pointer by sophomore Brittney Page at the 10:26 mark in the first half put Stevenson up by one. However, the Blue Jays (13-2, 7-2 MAC) used a 15-5 run to close the half to give them a 34-25 lead at the break.
Sophomore Caitlin Roy opened the half with two made free throws to cut the deficit to seven, but that would be as close as Stevenson would get as Elizabethtown used a 16-4 run in the first seven minutes to push its lead to 19.
The Mustangs forced 20 turnovers, marking the 13th time the team has forced at least 20 turnovers this season. On the year, they are forcing 23.6 turnovers per game.
Junior Ty Bender led the team with 13 points while adding six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Elizabethtown was led by Rachel Forjan who finished with a game-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting while Emily Martin finished with 17 rebounds.
The Blue Jays held a 43-35 rebounding edge while shooting above 45 percent for the fourth time this season.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, January 25 when its hosts Arcadia in a Commonwealth Conference beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Mustangs defeated the Knights 74-49 on Dec. 7, 2013.
