FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson women's tennis senior Jordan Rupard (Traceys Landing, Md./Southern) won a tough three-set match, winning 11-9 in the decisive tiebreaker, to lead the Mustangs in a 5-4 loss to Hood Tuesday at Hood Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs (0-2) won four of their six singles matches, but dropped all three doubles.
Rupard won the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 in a tiebreaker, while senior Katie Fersch (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon), freshman Bailey Hapen and freshman Ashley Puter won their No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 matches, respectively.
Puter dropped only two games, winning 6-1, 6-1.
The Mustangs will return to action on Sunday, September 29 when they travel to face Catholic beginning at 12:00 p.m.
