Men's Tennis Sweeps All Doubles Matches in 7-2 Win Over Eastern

STEVENSON, Md. – This afternoon's victory marks the first men's victory for new head coach, Matthew Russell. The match was also the first win over a conference opponent since joining the Middle Atlantic Commonwealth Conference.

Four Mustangs, freshman Conrad Ellis (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley), junior Anthony Carle (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), freshman Peter Hoblitzell (Towson, Md./Towson), and senior Eric Belton (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) led the team totaling victories in both their doubles and singles matchups.

At No. 1 doubles, Ellis teamed up with freshman Robbie Baker (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) for the third time this season to record their second win. Ellis and Baker conceded just one game. In other doubles action, Carle and senior Nick Dunlap (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) combined for their first win of the season as a double pair at No. 2 doubles. Hoblitzell and Belton paired up at No. 3 doubles without conceding a single game.

Belton also defeated his opponent at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0, making him the only Mustang of the afternoon to not concede a single game in either of his two matches.

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, March 30 where they face the Eagles of Juniata who are coached by former Stevenson head coach, Jason Cohen.
