STEVENSON, Md. - Stevenson women's tennis senior Susannah Hoblitzell (Towson, Md./Towson) had the tightest contest match at No. 1 singles, forcing three sets but ultimately fell 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 as the Mustangs were swept by York (Pa.) 9-0 Sunday afternoon at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
Junior Katie Fersch (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) won five games at No. 4 singles in her 6-2, 6-3 loss to Emily Price.
The Mustangs suffered two close losses at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles as the pairs of Hoblitzell and junior Tracey Rupard (Traceys Landing, Md./Southern) along with Fersch and sophomore Svetlana Widell (St. Michael's, Md./St. Michael's) both lost 8-6.
Stevenson returns to action on Thursday as they host Catholic at 2:00 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the new Greenspring Tennis Courts will precede the match at 1:00 p.m.
