Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer sophomore Yianni Sarioglou (Perry Hall, Md./Calvert Hall) and junior Christopher Panian (Monkton, Md./John Carroll) each had one goal and one assist as the Mustangs scored a season-high five goals en route to a 5-2 victory over Penn State Brandywine Sunday at Mustang Stadium.
Stevenson (5-5) posted its second-straight win and its second consecutive win at home. It also marked the first back-to-back wins for the team at Mustang Stadium where it is 5-6-1 in 12 career games.
The Mustangs' two leading scorers with 10 points apiece this season, Panian and Sarioglou have combined for nine points on three goals and three assists during the team's two-game winning streak. Both assisted on the other's goal today after Panian assisted on Sarioglou's goal last night in Stevenson's 1-0 win over Manhattanville.
Sarioglou's goal in the 27th minute was the game-winner, his first of the season and fourth of his career. He then picked up his team-leading assist on Panian's team-best fourth goal of the season. Sarioglou has posted six of the team's 14 assists this season.
Other key performances from Sunday included the first career goals for freshmen Calvin Granger (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) and Vincent Conti (Annapolis, Md./DeMatha Catholic) in the 57th and 73rd minutes, respectively.
In addition, freshman Daniel Ebsworth (Fallston, Md./North Harford) picked up his first career point in his first career appearance with an assist on Conti's goal.
The Mustangs, who outshot the Nittany Lions (1-5) 24-4 and held a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks, used three goalies in the win, including sophomore Alex Zeidler (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) who earned his second win of the season.
After playing three games in five days, Stevenson will return to action next Saturday, September 29 when the team concludes its four-game homestand versus fifth-ranked Messiah at Mustang Satdium beginning at 1:00 p.m.
