ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Stevenson women's tennis duo of senior Stephanie Eyler (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and junior Susannah Hoblitzell (Towson, Md./Towson) led the Mustangs with the only win of the match at No. 1 doubles as the Mustangs fell in a CAC contest at St. Mary's (Md.), 1-8.
Eyler and Hoblitzell defeated St. Mary's Alexa Gaul and Chelsea Bradcovich improving their doubles record to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the CAC.
Stevenson (5-7, 2-5 CAC) fell just short two of the other matches, including No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles. Sophomore Jordan Rupard (North Beach, Md./Southern) dropped her No. 3 singles match, but managed to take the match to three sets against Alyssa Stine, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Rupard also combined with freshman Svetlana Widell (St. Michael's, Md./St. Michael's) at No. 2 doubles, but fell 5-8 to Stine and Rost.
The Mustangs' next matchup will be on Tuesday at the Greenspring Tennis Courts where they face Trinity starting at 3:30 p.m.
