Box Score 2 BEVERLY, Mass. - Stevenson men's volleyball sophomore Eddy Klepper (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named to the all-tournament team at the Endicott Invitational while the Mustangs finished the two-day tournament undefeated with a 4-0 record after wins over SUNY New Paltz and Sage on Sunday at the Post Center.
Stevenson (14-9) posted its first-ever victory in five all-time meetings against SUNY New Paltz with a 28-26, 25-17, 27-25 decision in the opener before beating Sage, 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.
Klepper was named to the all-tournament team after totaling 44 kills, a .435 hitting percentage and 12 block assists. He totaled a career-high 16 kills to go along with five block assists in the team's 3-2 victory over No. 11 Vassar, the Mustangs' first over a ranked opponent in school history.
Meanwhile, sophomore Austin Jacoby (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) totaled 46 kills and 24 digs in his first four games back from injury as Stevenson improved to 5-0 with him in the lineup this season and 27-7 over the last two.
Entering Sunday, the Mustangs had won just one out of 13 sets against SUNY New Paltz in four previous meetings. Led by 11 kills from Klepper and eight from Jacoby, Stevenson posted its seventh straight-set victory of the season.
Sophomore Jon Martin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) had a game-high 14 kills and added nine digs while freshman Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York) had eight kills. Freshman David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) totaled four kills, 43 assists and five block assists.
Sophomore Adam Thatcher (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had nine digs and freshman Patrick Devine (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) had eight.
The Hawks (14-8) were led in kills by Mike Van Tyne who had 13. Sophomore Misa Garo totaled 30 assists while Brian O'Connor had four block assists. Michael Dauernheim had seven digs.
Against Sage, Jacoby led the way with a game-high 12 kills and added six digs as Stevenson won its fourth-straight and seventh out of the last eight. Martin had nine kills and eight digs while Wisener posted seven kills. Klepper amassed six kills and five digs.
Moler had 28 assists, seven digs and three total blocks while Devine totaled 10 digs. Freshman John Crinion (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) had three kills.
Dylan Krowicki netted 11 kills with eight digs for the Gators (16-7) who have won a school record 16 games this season. Spencer Hilland totaled eight kills, eight digs and three block assists. Kyle Ray had 29 assists.
Stevenson returns home for the first time since March 10 when it hosts Philadelphia Biblical on Tuesday, March 27 at Owings Mills Gymnasium. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
