OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer sophomore Ansger Otto (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) continued his barrage of scoring Wednesday, adding five more points on two goals and an assist as the Mustangs remained unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over Neumann at Caves Athletics Complex.

Stevenson (4-0), who was ranked at No. 9 in the NSCAA South Atlantic Region Poll on Tuesday, only managed five shots, but all on were on goal.

Wednesday marked Otto's fifth career multi-goal game and third in four games this season. With five points, he now has 15 for the season, including seven goals after totaling nine goals and 22 points a year ago in earning CAC and ECAC South Rookie of the Year honors.

The first goal of the day came in the eighth minute off the foot of junior Justin Carver (Manchester/North Carroll) after Otto's sweeping cross from the right edge of the penalty area passed in front of Knight keeper Bob Mastrillo before Carver tapped it in for a 1-0 lead.

Otto netted the eventual game-winner just 14 minutes later on a breakaway down the center of the field, blasting a shot from 35 yards to increase the Mustangs' lead to two.

The game was scoreless for the next 42 minutes before Stevenson scored its third off a direct kick by Otto just outside the penalty box. He circled the Knights wall and placed it over the keeper's head in the upper corner to give the Mustangs a three-goal advantage.

Neumann (2-1) controlled the game statistically, totaling 18 shots, but were not able to break-up the shutout until the 88th minute when Michael Frei found Paul Konneh sprinting towards the top of the 18 who put one past sophomore keeper Cory Spindler (Sykesville/Century) who had entered in relief of junior Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex).

Flannelly extended his shutout streak to 196:33 after making six saves and leaving the game after 72 minutes. Spindler surrendered one goal, but made two saves in just over 18 minutes.

Stevenson's returns to action this Saturday, September 11 when it hosts Gettysburg beginning at 1:00 p.m.
