as the No. 8-ranked Mustangs won their first road game of the
season, 9-7 against No. 15 Stevens Saturday at De Baun

Despite a 49-33 egde in shots, the Stevenson (2-0) offense
continued to struggle, needing five second half goals to hold off
the Ducks.
With score tied at 5-5 midway through the third quarter, the
Mustangs scored the final three goals of the period, including the
eventual game-winner by Ford with just six seconds remaining to
take an 8-5 lead into the fourth.
Stevenson outshot Stevens 14-5 in the third quarter and 32-14
for the second half.
Ford also had an assist in the quarter to senior Chris
Baldwin (Baltimore/Calvert Hall) who scored back-to-back
go-ahead goals to give Stevenson a 5-4 and 6-5 lead.
Stevens (1-1) opened the fourth quarter with two goals in
the first 1:42 to pull within one at 8-7, but Ford would net his
second goal of the game, unassisted with 11:53 remaining, to seal
the Mustangs' fifth-straight regular season victory.
Sophomore Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winter
Mills) also finished the day with three points as he
picked up three assists, including two on Stevenson's first three
goals. Baldwin added two points on his two third quarter goals as
did junior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse,
N.Y./Henninger) who had a goal and an assist.

while Dave Decker made 13 saves and allowed nine goals in 57
minutes before giving way to Christopher Laurita for the final
three-plus minutes.
Stevenson returns home to face a top-10 showdown with No.
2-ranked Gettysburg at home on Wednesday. Last year, the Mustangs
nearly upset the Bullets on the road before falling 10-9. Game time
is at 3:00 p.m.
