Owings Mills, MD- Jamie Jones
led the Mustangs with four goals to their victory of 26-2 over
conference foe Hood (1-11, 0-7). Villa (7-4, 2-4) outmaneuvered the
Blazers with 44 shots to eight and 20 groundballs to 11.
Villa immediately went on a run in the first half with eight goals
with the first at the 27:08 mark by Jones. Hood
put an appearance on the scoreboard with 16:24 remaining, followed
by five additional Villa goals. Hood managed their second and final
goal of the game at 3:15, while Kristyna Hnizda
finished the scoring with 1:50 remaining for a half time score of
14-2.
Villa was not contested in the second half as they scored 12
unanswered goals.
In addition to four goals by Jones, Lauren
Zegowitz, Brittany Connelly, Cat
Connelly, and Hnizda tallied three goals.
They were followed by Mandi Carr, Colleen
Albrecht, Julie Olson, and defender
Jess Dixon added two, while Lisa
Baker and Brittany Hilton grabbed one
each.
The Mustangs are back in action on April 10 when they host
Haverford College 4:30 p.m.
