Women's Lacrosse Gets Second CAC Loss

Owings Mills, MD -  The Villa Julie women's lacrosse team took on CAC leader and nationally ranked #2 Salisbury this afternoon.  The Mustangs (2-2, 1-2) fought as hard as they could but were defeated 21-2 by the Seagulls (8-0, 4-0).

Goalie, Kait Brzozowski (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) guarded the goal for 40 minutes and totaled 6 saves, Devan Malone (Highland, MD/River Hill) took over for the final 20 minutes.

The Mustangs came alive in the second half scoring two goals, one by Kristyna Hnizda (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) and one by Lisa Baker (Westminster, MD/Westminster), both were unassisted.

Salisbury ran the field in the first half of the game going up 12-0 at the half.  Villa scored their first goal three minutes into the second half to make the score 14-1.  Their second came with 10 minutes left in the game, but it wasn't enough to come close to the Seagulls.

Villa totaled 16 shots, 14 groundballs, 11 clears, and won 13 draw controls for the day.  This is the Mustangs' second conference loss this season.  Salisbury remains undefeated in both regular and conference play.

The Mustangs will return to their home field on Saturday, March 15, to take on Lasall College at 3:30.
