Washington, DC-

The Mustangs fell to Catholic this afternoon in a hard-fought battle.  Catholic came out on top 22-11.

Catholic took an immediate 3-0 lead over the Mustangs in the first half.  Jamie Jones was the first Mustang to hit the cage but her goal was answered by two more Cardinal goals.  Cat Connelly scored another goal for the Mustangs to try and get momentum flowing through the team but Catholic shut them down once again.  Catholic scored three more goals before Meghan Smith scored a goal off of a free position shot.  The Cardinals scored another two goals when Smith found the cage again for the Mustangs.  With less then a minute left in the half, Catholic scored another goal to end the half ahead 11-4.

Villa came out of the half ready to play.  They scored two back to back goals at the beginning of the second half.  Catholic stopped them at 25:55 when Marcy Cuneo scored for the Cardinals.  Villa's Connelly scored for the Mustangs after that but the Cardinals came back and scored two more goals.  Villa stepped up and scored four goals in a row and dominated the field until the 18:00 mark.  Catholic took over and scored eight more goals to end the game ahead 22-11.
