Freshman Kim Moxley (Westminster,
MD/Westminster) scored the game-winning, overtime goal, to lift
Villa Julie (1-1) to a 3-2 win over Goucher College (0-1) in a
non-conference women's soccer match on Wednesday afternoon.
The Gophers took their first lead, 2-1, with just under 2
minutes to go in the game. Villa then got an amazing goal
from Moxley with :11 seconds left to send the
game into overtime.
Junior Tonia Cristino (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield)
chipped in with the first goal of the game for the
Mustangs. VJC dominated the game statistically out shooting
the Gophers 26-10, but Gouchers goalie had an amazing day making 16
saves.
With the win, Villa Julie evens their record at 1-1. The
Mustangs return to the pitch Saturday at Cazenovia
College for their first NEAC contest.
