Villa Julie's (6-3) women's soccer team posted its third
consecutive shutout, pasting a 10-0 loss on Polytechnic University
on Saturday. With the win, Villa improves to 6-3 (4-1 NEAC), while
Polytechnic drops to 0-5 (0-4 NEAC).
Villa's goals came early and often versus an undermanned
Polytechnic squad. The first came when Katie
Orlando (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) passed to
Jackie Hoffman (Baltimore , MD /Catholic).
Hoffman took a shot from left of the goal and poked it
into the lower right corner. The second goal came
from Kim Moxley (Westminster , MD
/Westminster) off a pass from Tonia Cristino
(Lancaster , PA /Hempfield). Moxley then
proceeded to score two more goals on her own. Then at 24:24
Hoffman struck again with an assist
from Michelle Sadowski (Baltimore,
MD/Kenwood/Essex CC). Laura Robinson
(Westminster, MD/Westminster/Howard CC) scored on her own, and then
Orlando scored on a volley from Nikki
Miller (Glen Burnie/Northeast).
Hoffman struck again, assisting Kelly
Townley (Baltimore , MD /John Carroll/Essex CC) in scoring
the eighth goal of the game. Lauren Healy
(Baltimore, MD/Catholic/Essex CC) and Cristino
then wrapped up the game by scoring on their own.
Villa's women return to action on Tuesday against Philadelphia
Bible.
