Women's Soccer

Villa Julie 10, Polytechnic 0

Brooklyn, NY.-

Villa Julie's (6-3) women's soccer team posted its third consecutive shutout, pasting a 10-0 loss on Polytechnic University on Saturday. With the win, Villa improves to 6-3 (4-1 NEAC), while Polytechnic drops to 0-5 (0-4 NEAC).

Villa's goals came early and often versus an undermanned Polytechnic squad.  The first came when Katie Orlando (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) passed to Jackie Hoffman (Baltimore , MD /Catholic).  Hoffman took a shot from left of the goal and poked it into the lower right corner.  The second goal came from Kim Moxley (Westminster , MD /Westminster) off a pass from Tonia Cristino (Lancaster , PA /Hempfield).  Moxley then proceeded to score two more goals on her own.  Then at 24:24 Hoffman struck again with an assist from Michelle Sadowski (Baltimore, MD/Kenwood/Essex CC).  Laura Robinson (Westminster, MD/Westminster/Howard CC) scored on her own, and then Orlando scored on a volley from Nikki Miller (Glen Burnie/Northeast).  Hoffman struck again, assisting Kelly Townley (Baltimore , MD /John Carroll/Essex CC) in scoring the eighth goal of the game.  Lauren Healy (Baltimore, MD/Catholic/Essex CC) and Cristino then wrapped up the game by scoring on their own.

Villa's women return to action on Tuesday against Philadelphia Bible.
