Box Score GAME 4: Neumann 3, Villa Julie 2
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Sophomore Emily Pullarn
(Perry Hall, MD/Perry Hall) scored a pair of goals for Villa Julie
(0-1) in a 3-2 loss to Neumann College (1-0) in non-conference
field hockey action on Saturday.
After falling behind 3-0 in the first 36 minutes of the game,
the Mustangs dominated the rest of the way. Freshman
Raechel Manly (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) added an
assist in her first collegiate game.
Michelle Coderre, Rachel Mease, and Gabriele Bendistis each
tallied a goal for the Knights in the win.
The Mustangs are back in action on Sunday when they host
SUNY-Oswego at 12pm. Neumann will face Rowan at 2pm.
GAME 3: Rowan 4, Wittenberg 0
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Danielle Miranda scored three goals to lead
Rowan University to a 4-0 win over Wittenberg University in the
first day of the Black Eyed Susan Tournament.
Colleen McGowan chipped in the final tally for the Owls as they
rolled to a big victory. Rowan dominated the stat sheet as
they outshot Wittenberg 27-2.
With the victory, Rowan improves to 1-0 on the
season. Wittenberg falls to 0-1 and will play in one of
the first two games on Sunday.
GAME 2: FDU-Florham 6, Notre Dame (MD) 0
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Christina Fabian scored three and Alex
DeVito scored twice to lead Farleigh Dickinson (1-0) to a 6-0 win
over the College of Notre Dame (0-1) in non-conference field hockey
action on Saturday.
Christy Barbetto tallied FDU's final goal of the game. The
Devils dominated throughout as they held a 32-0 shot advantage.
With the victory FDU earns a place in the championship game on
Sunday at 4pm.The College of Notre Dame will play the 10am game on
Sunday.
GAME 1: York (PA) 3,
SUNY-Oswego 0
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- SUNY-Oswego (0-1) goalie Kaitlin
Daniels made 14 saves, but it was not enough as York (1-0)
outscored the Lakers 3-0 in the first game of the Black Eyed Susan
Tournament.
York dominated the game as they held the ball on offense
almost the entire 70 minutes. The Spartans won the battle of
statistics as they outshot the Lakers 25-5.
York heads to the winners bracket to play the 2pm game on
Sunday; the Lakers are forced to play the game beginning at
12pm.
