Stevenson University

Trumbo, the coach of the women's volleyball team and the women's beach volleyball team, has built two successful programs. The women's beach volleyball team, the first in NCAA Division III, has been one of the top small-college programs in the country. In 2018, the Mustangs finished second at the inaugural AVCA Small College National Championship, while they posted the first-ever win over a Division I opponent, topping Morehead State. In 2022, the Mustangs earned their first-ever AVCA Small College National Championship with a 4-0 win over Hendrix. That same year, Emily Pellini and Shannon Baily were named Stevenson's first-ever AVCA Small College Beach All-Americans.
 
In women's volleyball, the program has totaled 420 wins, 21 All-Americans, 47 All-Conference selections, five Player of the Year selections, three Rookie of the Year selections, 12 postseason appearances, including 11 straight appearances in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship from 2011-22 (there was no tournament during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 outbreak) in Trumbo's 17 years at the helm.
