Joining the 2023-24 Mustang coaching staff is Erwin Baylor, who will be serving as the jumps coach with the track and field squads. Baylor is a USA Track and Field (USATF) certified coach and also holds certification as a strength and conditioning coach by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Baylor partnered with the National Jumps Symposium in February of 2023 to learn alongside high-level coaches.
In his career, he has coached and developed several All-American athletes, many of which came within the past four years, at Nike Nationals, Adidas Nationals, and AAU Nationals. He is also responsible for developing several all-state school and city record holders who then went on to compete collegiately.
In addition to helping training Stevenson's student-athletes, Baylor trains other collegiate and professional athletes in both in-season and off-season programs under his sports performance business.
