Ninth year head men's hockey coach Dominick Dawes announced the addition of John Roberts to his staff ahead of the Mustangs' 2024-25 campaign.
Roberts comes most recently from Saint Norbert College in Wisconsin, where he played three seasons for the Green Knights. In 45 career games, he came away with a 25-10-2 record with a 2.64 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.
While playing for Saint Norbert, Roberts ran High Performance Goaltending in Green Bay alongside Chris Nell, the goaltending coach at Division I Colgate University.
Before joining the Green Knights, Roberts began his collegiate career at Division I Northern Michigan University for two seasons. He was named an Academic All-American both years, adding a third honor in his senior season at Saint Norbert.
The Lansdale, Pennsylvania native graduated from Saint Norbert in 2024 with a degree in Biomedical Biology and a concentration in Anatomy & Physiology.
Before college, Roberts played a combined 114 games in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), starting with the Shreveport Mudbugs were he racked up 16 wins while boasting a 2.229 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Roberts concluded his juniors career with two seasons as a Bismarck Bobcat, earning 38 victories, a 2.63 goals against average, and a .921 save percentage. His efforts earned him the NAHL Leadership Award in 2019.
