bio

Dawes was named the head coach of the inaugural men's ice hockey team in August 2015.

Since then, Stevenson has emerged as a national contender in the DIII hockey landscape. 

2016 head coach

  • MAC Champions in 2017-18, 2020-21, 2022-23, 2023-24
  • Stevenson recorded a program-best nine consecutive wins as part of truncated finish to 2021-22 season
  • The Mustangs closed the 2021-22 season receiving votes in the final USCHO DIII Poll
  • Guided the Mustangs to the UCHC Championship game in 2020-21 
  • Earned MAC Coach of the Year honors in 2020-21 and 2022-23
  • Led the Mustangs to a program record 18 wins during the 2019-20 season
  • Advanced to the UCHC semifinals, falling in the mini game
  • Defeated five-time National Champion, St.Norbert, in a come-from-behind victory (11/29/19)
