OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson men's soccer battled Shenandoah to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening at Owings Mills East. With the result, the Mustangs move to 2-0-1 on the season, while the Hornets move to 0-1-2.
Stevenson generated the early pressure, as Kameron Ross recorded the first shot of the contest in the fourth minute. Ross followed with the Mustangs' first shot on goal just over a minute later, forcing Shenandoah goalkeeper to make the save. Nick Gervase added another attempt in the 22nd minute as the Mustangs entered halftime scoreless with the Hornets.
Gervase opened the second half with another quality opportunity, putting a shot on frame in the 47th minute that was stopped. Blest Dumbuya followed with an attempt in the 55th minute, but neither side was able to find the breakthrough.
Shenandoah increased its offensive pressure down the stretch, but Stevenson goalkeeper Andrew Sindicic kept the Hornets off the board. Sindicic made a save in the 71st minute before coming up with two more stops in the final minute of regulation to preserve the shutout.
Sindicic finished the evening with four saves while recording his second consecutive shutout. Ross and Gervase paced the Mustang offense with two shots apiece and one shot on goal each. Stevenson finished with five shots, including two on goal.
The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Delaware Valley University for a noon start time.
