Poust returns to Stevenson Men’s Lacrosse in Full-Time Assistant Coach role

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson men's lacrosse head coach Paul Cantabene announced the hiring of Marc Poust '22 as the program's assistant coach on Monday.

"Marc understands what Stevenson Lacrosse is all about because he lived it as a student-athlete," said Cantabene. "He was an outstanding goalkeeper, a leader, and someone who earned the respect of his teammates through his work ethic, toughness, and commitment to excellence."

Poust returns to Stevenson after gaining coaching experience at both Neumann University and Ursinus College. Most recently, he served as head coach for Neumann's men's lacrosse program during the Knights' 2025 fall nontraditional season following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Ursinus.

While at Ursinus, Poust served as the program's director of operations and recruiting coordinator. In those roles, he managed team logistics, coordinated recruiting efforts, and built meaningful relationships with student-athletes to support their development both on and off the field.

In addition to his coaching experience, Poust has worked in sports media, creating written and digital content for Campus2Canton and Sports Illustrated's NFL Draft Bible. Through those roles, he engaged audiences across all levels of collegiate football while developing his communication and analytical skills.

As a student-athlete at Stevenson, Poust held a decorated career between the pipes. He earned USILA All-America and IMLCA All-Region honors while serving as a two-year team captain. He remains among the program's all-time leaders in several statistical categories, including ranking third in career saves.

"We are excited to welcome him back as our Defensive Coordinator," Cantabene added. "Marc brings a tremendous lacrosse IQ, a passion for teaching the game, and a deep understanding of the culture and standards that have made our program successful. I have no doubt he will have a tremendous impact on the development of our defense and the growth of our student-athletes both on and off the field."

Poust earned his bachelor's degree in legal studies from Stevenson University in 2022.
