Baseball falls in cross conference battle to Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. — Stevenson University baseball team was defeated by Lebanon Valley, 9–5, on Tuesday afternoon in nonconference play.

After falling behind early, the Mustangs used a three-run fourth inning—highlighted by an RBI double from Caleb Laverty—to take a 3–1 lead. However, Lebanon Valley responded with eight combined runs in the fifth and sixth innings to regain control of the game.

Stevenson trailed 9–3 before attempting a late comeback in the seventh inning. Gavin Wagner delivered an RBI single and Kaige Garrity added a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to four, but the Mustangs were held scoreless over the final two innings.

Offensively, Garrity led Stevenson with two hits and an RBI, while Laverty contributed a double and RBI. Wagner also added a key RBI off the bench. On the mound, Ari Lonstein took the loss, allowing four earned runs over 4.2 innings of work.

Stevenson finished with six hits and drew six walks.

The Mustangs return to action tomorrow when they host Notre Dame of Maryland for senior day. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
