YORK, Pa. – The No. 3 Stevenson women's lacrosse team (10-8 overall, 6-3 MAC Commonwealth) fell to No. 2 York (Pa.), 9-7, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Spartans opened the scoring at the 9:13 mark of the first quarter. Five minutes later,
Vivi Kaminaris finished a feed from
Olivia Galati to even the contest at 1-1. York responded with two late goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter.
York extended its advantage with three straight goals to begin the second, building a 6-1 cushion.
Ava Treakle halted the run with 7:10 remaining in the half, but the Spartans added one more before the break to carry a 7-2 lead into halftime.
Stevenson came out strong in the third quarter.
Zoe Kaplan scored back-to-back goals at 12:26 and 5:41 to spark the Mustangs' offense. After York netted its eighth goal, Galati answered with a pair of tallies to cut the deficit to 8-6 heading into the final frame.
Galati struck again at the 10:43 mark of the fourth quarter to make it a one-goal game, but the Spartans added an insurance goal with 2:20 remaining to secure the 9-7 victory.
The Mustangs dominated the draw winning 11 of 18, as Galati led the Mustangs with a four- point outing.
Emma Carpenter, Treakle, and Kaplan all had a two-point contest as
Alice Petersen and Kaminaris each tallied one.
Emily Steinberg stood in net making seven stops.
This contest concludes the 2026 season for the Mustangs, and they will now shift focus to their fall 2026 nontraditional season.
