STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team (5-8, 2-3 MACC) fell in their non-conference matchup to Gettysburg by a 5-2 score.
The Mustangs got off to a great start in doubles play.
Luke Appleman and
Brandon Nguyen improved to 8-3 as a duo in No. 1 doubles with a 7-5 win.
Nate Kelly and
Christian Coulson won in No. 2 by a 6-4 score to improve to 5-1.
Nickolas Valis and
King Nacua lost in No. 3 by a 7-5 score.
The Mustangs would, however, drop five of the six singles matches.
Appleman picked up the lone doubles win, 6-2, 6-3 to improve to 8-5. Nacua fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, while Nguyen dropped his match, 6-2, 6-2. Kelly lost in No. 5 by a 6-3, 6-0 score.
The Mustangs will compete in their final tune-up before the MAC semifinals against No. 6 Johns Hopkins on Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. on the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
