ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - The Stevenson women's tennis team (5-7, 2-3 MACC) clinched a spot in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals after defeating Eastern by a 6-1 score.
Ariella Stepleman and
Shelby Carter cruised to a 6-2 victory in No. 1 doubles to improve to 2-1 on the year.
Sofia McCoy and
Kara Chwang improved to 3-0 after winning their No. 2 match, 6-2.
Tiffany Njemanze and
Emma Clayton improved to 2-0 after dominating their No. 3 opponents by a 6-1 margin.
Stepleman finished the regular season over .500 in singles play (6-5) with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Clayton won in No. 2 by a 6-0, 6-3 score.
Chwang won her fourth match of the year, 6-1, 6-2, while Njemanze won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Njemanze finishes the regular season at 4-3.
Mackenzie Dicke won her fourth match of season by a 6-4, 6-1 score.
The fourth-seeded Mustangs will travel to Messiah to take on the top-seeded Falcons in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals on Tuesday, April 28.
