OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (8-5 overall, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) delivered a dominant 23-0 shutout victory over Eastern on Saturday afternoon. With the shutout win, the team earned its first shutout since the 2009 season.
The Mustangs erupted for 10 first-quarter goals to trigger a running clock. Alice Petersen, Sarah Perry, June Price, Zoe Kaplan, Maddie Kline, Ava Treakle, and Olivia Galati all contributed during the explosive opening frame.
Stevenson continued to roll in the second quarter, adding six more goals behind efforts from Lauren Caulden, Vivi Kaminaris, Emma Carpenter, Galati, and Price to take a commanding 16-0 lead into halftime.
In the third, the Mustangs tacked on five additional goals, with Kaminaris, Sarah Hroblak, Riley Sweeney, and Kora Ketner finding the back of the net to extend the advantage to 21-0.
Lizzy Cohen and Kline each scored in the fourth quarter to seal the 23-0 conference shutout.
Petersen and Perry notched a six-point afternoon as five more Mustangs tallied three points. Four Mustangs added two points on attack as Zoe McSharry picked up three ground balls. In net, Regan Torbert, Anna Johnston, and Reilly Holstrom earned a combined three saves.
The Mustangs will prepare to face No. 8 York on Wednesday in Mustang Stadium. The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
