OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Stevenson University baseball team dropped a 10–2 decision to Messiah on Friday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action.
Messiah used a seven-run third inning to take control early. Stevenson responded in the bottom half with an RBI single from Collin Palmieri, scoring Ben Vaughan.
The Mustangs added a run in the seventh on an RBI single by Christopher Manco, but could not close the gap. Jaylon Surell led Stevenson with two hits, while Palmieri and Manco each drove in a run.
Chris Fortunato took the loss on the mound, allowing six earned runs over three innings, while Mason Gove and Zachary Marsh combined in relief.
With the loss, Stevenson falls to 6–5 overall and 0–4 in conference play.
The team will travel to Messiah tomorrow for a MAC Commonwealth double header starting at noon.
