CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (3-5) fell to No. 17 Stevens, 12-5, on Tuesday morning.

Stevens opened the game with a goal off the first draw, but the Mustang defense held the Ducks scoreless for several minutes until a second goal at the 5:01 mark. Hailey Johnson answered with a free-position goal to cut the deficit to one heading into the second quarter.

In the second, Stevens struck with two quick goals early, but Zoe Kaplan capitalized on a man-up opportunity off an assist from Alice Petersen to make it a 4-2 contest. The Ducks responded just 11 seconds later, before Megan Greenwell converted on a free-position attempt at 3:44 to bring Stevenson back within two. Stevens added another goal at 2:28 to take a 6-3 lead into halftime.

The Ducks opened the second half with a four-goal run in the third quarter, extending their advantage to 10-3 heading into the final frame.

Stevens added an early goal in the fourth, but Zoe McSharry halted the run with a goal off a feed from Ava Treakle. Treakle followed with an unassisted tally at the 5:19 mark, but despite efforts on attack Stevenson fell, 12-5.

Treakle led the Mustangs with two points, while five other players recorded a point on the attack.
