COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (2-3) dropped a 16-5 decision to the Ursinus Bears on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Ursinus opened the game with 11 unanswered goals before Ava Treakle put Stevenson on the board off an assist from Megan Greenwell. The Bears carried an 11-1 lead into halftime.
Ursinus struck first in the second half at the 12:35 mark, but Galati and Treakle responded with back-to-back goals to trim the deficit. After the Bears added another goal at 4:24, Emma Carpenter found the back of the net two minutes later, sending Stevenson into the fourth quarter trailing 13-4.
Treakle scored less than a minute into the final frame to complete her hat trick, but Ursinus closed the game with three straight goals to secure the 16-5 victory.
Treakle led the Mustangs offensively with three goals, going 2-for-2 on free-position shots. Greenwell recorded two assists, while Carpenter and Galati each added a goal. Emily Steinberg made eight saves in net for Stevenson.
The Mustangs will remain on the road next Saturday when they travel to face St. Mary's College of Maryland at 4 p.m.
