OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's lacrosse team (2–2) defeated Randolph–Macon College, 14–8, on Wednesday evening at Mustang Stadium.

Emma Carpenter opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 10:24 mark of the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets responded a minute later to tie the game at 1–1. Within 30 seconds, Randolph–Macon took a 2–1 lead. Carpenter found the back of the net again with five minutes remaining in the first quarter to even the score at 2–2. Carpenter and Olivia Galati each added a goal to give the Mustangs a 4–3 lead heading into the second quarter.

Ava Treakle scored two minutes into the second quarter, extending Stevenson's lead. Zoe Kaplan added a goal off an assist from Megan Greenwell. Randolph–Macon attempted to rally with two goals of its own, but Greenwell responded with a goal with 1:30 remaining in the half to maintain Stevenson's advantage at halftime.

Coming out of the break, Galati netted her 12th goal of the season. Alice Peterson followed one minute later with her first goal of the season, giving Stevenson a 9–5 lead. The Yellow Jackets scored twice more to cut the deficit to three heading into the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs held Randolph–Macon scoreless for most of the final frame as Greenwell, Treakle, Carpenter, and Galati each scored to extend the lead to 14–7. With 16 seconds remaining, the Yellow Jackets added a late goal to make the final score 14–8.

Treakle led the Mustangs with 14 draw controls. Galati recorded six points on three goals and three assists, while Carpenter tallied five goals for five points. Emily Steinberg made eight saves in goal.

Stevenson returns to action Saturday when it travels to face Ursinus College at 1 p.m.
