HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (1-1) defeated Juniata (0-1) 18-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Stevenson came out firing in the opening 15 minutes, building a commanding 5–0 lead over Juniata in the first quarter. Ava Treakle got the Mustangs on the board at 14:09 off a feed from Emma Carpenter. Stevenson capitalized on back-to-back penalties by the Eagles. Riley Sweeney extended the lead with a goal at 12:30. Megan Greenwell scored two goals within 40 seconds of each other moving to a 4-0. Olivia Galati notched a goal to seal the scoring of quarter one.

15 seconds into the second quarter, Sweeney picked up right where she left off finding the back of the net. The Mustangs netted three more goals before Juniata answered with a goal of their own. Maddie Kline collected a goal of her own while being a man down. Each team traded a goal before heading into halftime where the Mustangs led 11-2.

Stevenson scored four unanswered goals in the third quarter coming from Galati, Vivi Kaminaris, Sarah Hroblak, and Greenwell. In the fourth quarter the Eagles notched a goal 55 seconds in. Hailey Johnson, Kora Ketner, and Zoe McSharry all scored a goal of their own to end the game 18-3. 

Galati led Stevenson with four goals and two draw controls, while Treakle added three points and two draw controls. Defensively, Sweeney caused two turnovers. Emily Steinberg collected her first colliegiate win, finishing with three saves.

Stevenson will return to action on Saturday when they host Washington College at 12:00 p.m.
