Messiah scored the game's opening basket, but Stevenson quickly seized momentum, jumping out to an 11-5 lead three minutes into the contest following a three-pointer from

A three-pointer from
Christian Jackson and a layup by
Noah Ihezue knotted the score at 26-26 with 8:02 remaining before halftime. From there, the Mustangs took control, closing the half on a strong scoring run to build a 49-37 advantage at the break.
Stevenson carried that momentum into the second half. A fast break layup by Ihezue extended the lead to 20 midway through the period, setting the tone for the remainder of the game.
