HERSHEY, Pa. – The Stevenson women's ice hockey team (2-14-1 overall, 2-10-1 MAC) dropped a 3-1 decision to Lebanon Valley (13-4 overall, 10-3 MAC) on Friday night.
The Mustangs held the Flying Dutchmen scoreless through the opening period, but Lebanon Valley struck just 15 seconds into the second period to take a 1-0 lead.
Lebanon Valley extended its advantage to 2-0 at the 8:23 mark of the third period before Kira Otto cut the deficit in half with a power-play goal, assisted by Emma DeMan and Kylie Chandler. The Flying Dutchmen sealed the victory with an empty-net power-play goal late in the game.
Stevenson was narrowly outshot, 35-32, while DeMan won 18 of the team's 29 faceoffs. Three Mustangs recorded points on the night, and Emily Carson made 32 saves in goal.
The Mustangs will return to action on Friday against Hood College, following the postponement of Saturday's contest versus Lebanon Valley due to forecasted inclement weather. Puck drop is set for 3:10 p.m. at Skate Frederick.
