CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Stevenson women's soccer team (1-1-1) fell to the Washington College Shorewomen (2-1-1) 0-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs held their defensive front to keep the Shorewomen scoreless for the first half, but in the 60
th minute Washington scored to take the one goal lead. Despite offensive efforts from the Mustangs, Washington walked with the 1-0 win after the game was cut six minutes short due to inclement weather, including lightening.
In the contest, the Mustangs put up six shots, three of them on goal.
Karly Sheahan led the shots on goal column with two, while
Isabella Pecunes fired away one.
Isabella Serano made eight saves in goal on the afternoon.
The Mustangs return home and prepare to face the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks for their home opener. First touch is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10.
