WINCHESTER, Va. – The Stevenson women's soccer team (1-0-1) battled into a 1-1 draw with the Shenandoah Hornets (0-1-1) on Wednesday evening.
Isabella Serano held down the fort in goal making 16 stops on the evening.
In the second minute of the contest,
Kamille Purcell netted her third goal of the season to put the Mustangs on the board early. The Hornets retaliated back and pushed hard offensively but Stevenson held them back until the 45
th minute. With just 47 seconds left in the first half, Shenandoah tied the contest 1-1. Despite offensive efforts from both teams in the second half, the game concluded in a 1-1 tie.
Purcell grabbed a two-point night from her goal. Serano stood strong in goal making 16 saves, tying for eighth in the programs record book for saves in a game.
The Mustangs will remain on the road for one more game returning to Owings Mills. Next up, Stevenson prepares to face Washington College (Md.) on Saturday. First touch is slated for 4 p.m.
