Men's Soccer Collects Commanding First Win in Home Opener Against Goucher

Owings Mills, Md. – The Stevenson Men's Soccer team earned its first win of the 2025 season in commanding fashion, defeating Goucher 4-0 in the home opener on Wednesday evening. Two Mustangs tallied their first goals of the year in the victory.

Once Stevenson settled into their home pitch, the Mustangs wasted little time. Landon Eaton opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick from Ellis Amo. From there, Goucher struggled to find chances, recording six shots and failing to put one past the Stevenson goalkeeping rotation.

Amo, who assisted on the opener, quickly made his mark on the score sheet with two goals of his own. The junior midfielder struck twice in the second half, just three minutes apart, to give Stevenson a commanding 3-0 lead.

The scoring was capped off only seven minutes later, as Gianfranco Vitella found the back of the net for his third goal of the season, finishing with four points on the day. Despite Goucher's persistence in the closing minutes, Stevenson's trio of goalkeepers preserved the clean sheet and secured the 4-0 shutout.

Stevenson returns to its home pitch on Saturday, September 6, to host Gallaudet at 4 p.m.
