Owings Mills, Md. (September 27) – On senior day, the Stevenson men's soccer team hosted Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foe Delaware Valley and handed the Aggies just their second loss of the season with a 2-1 victory.
The Mustangs wasted no time getting on the board as
Landon Eaton struck in the 6th minute off a well-placed pass from senior
Gianfranco Vitella. Just 11 minutes later, Stevenson doubled its advantage when Vitella found the back of the net himself to make it 2-0.
Delaware Valley cut the deficit early in the second half with a goal in the 48th minute, but the Mustang defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the win.
Seniors
Ryan Peterson and
Nolen Olson-Warwick anchored the defensive effort in the box, each logging 45 minutes of action. Peterson also contributed two key saves on the afternoon.
Stevenson continues its home stand on Wednesday, October 1, when the Mustangs welcome Susquehanna for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
