OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson women's soccer team (3-1-3) took down the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen (6-1) 4-2 on Saturday evening. The Mustangs were the first team to score on Lebanon Valley this season.
Isabella Pecunes opened scoring in the 6
th minute of the match, to notch her first goal as a Mustang, as
Colleen Fanning followed with a second goal 10 minutes later. In the 22
nd minute,
Kamille Purcell netted her sixth goal of the season off a ball from
Madison Rytina to make it a 3-0 contest at halftime.
Lebanon Valley opened scoring in the second half with two goals in the 55
th and 58
th minute. In the 74
th minute, Stevenson was awarded a team goal, from a Dutchmen own goal, to finalize the 4-2 win for the Mustangs.
Stevenson out shot the Dutchmen on goal 8-6 in the match up. Pecunes, Purcell, and Fanning each tallied a two-point game from their goals, as Rytina slotted a point from her assist.
Isabella Serano made four saves in net for Stevenson.
The Mustangs will prepare to jump on the road to face Susquehanna on Wednesday, September 24. First touch is slated for 7 p.m.
