OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson field hockey team (5-0) took down the McDaniel Green Terror (2-2) 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Throughout the first half, the Mustangs dominated offensively out shooting McDaniel 9-0 overall.
Shae Bennett netted the first goal for the Mustangs in the 33
rd minute to slot a 1-0 lead heading into the 4
th quarter. In the 48
th minute,
Gracyn Catalano added a second goal for Stevenson, off a pass from
Kailen Hibshman to claim the 2-0 win.
Bennett and Catalano added two-point games to their stat sheet from a goal each, as Hibshman added a point from her assist. Stevenson out shot McDaniel 26-1 overall, 12-0 on cage.
Jordan Vradenburgh played all 60 minutes in cage and claimed the shutout win without having a shot against her in cage.
Stevenson will take the weekend off from play while preparing to face Maryland rival, Salisbury, on Wednesday, September 17. The contest will begin at 6 p.m. in Salisbury, Md.
