CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Adam Abdur-Rahman of the Stevenson track and field team is taking his environmental science studies to Harvard University this summer. While at Harvard, Abdur-Rahman is researching the axonic microsites in the soils as part of Harvard Forest Hurricane Manipulation Experiment.
The student-athlete found out about this opportunity during a research information session that was hosted by the Stevenson Environmental Club. This opportunity has allowed him to use the knowledge gained in the classroom and using it real-world scenarios and experiences. "My favorite part of the experience, so far has been working with the diverse staff here and the field work associated with ecological research," said Abdur-Rahman.
"Division III athletics has given me time management skills through balancing academics and athletics during the academic year. This has translated into the research field as rigorous work schedules are a norm," Stated Abdur-Rahman.
