YORK, Pa. – The Stevenson men's lacrosse team fell to the York Spartans 10-16 on Saturday afternoon in the 2025 MAC Commonwealth Championship.

York came out strong and put up six-straight goals before Gavin Gossen halted the run with a goal at 4:29. The Spartans replied with two more goals to set an 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Mustangs opened with two goals from Max Racich, but York followed with two more goals to slot a 10-3 lead at halftime.

York outscored Stevenson 6-5 in the third quarter. Racich, Gossen, Grant Zick, Dillon Linhardt, and Taz Delaney contributed to the five goals for the Mustangs, but York still led the contest 16-8.

In the final quarter, the Mustangs were able to hold the Spartans scoreless but only were able to finish on two scoring opportunities. Linhardt and Racich each netted a goal in the fourth quarter, but despite the Mustangs' efforts, York walked with the 16-10 win and Championship title.

Gossen and Racich led Stevenson with a four-point afternoon, as Gossen tallied a pair of goals and assists, and Racich netted four goals. Linhardt had a two-goal day as Zick and Delaney put one goal away. Tyler Merchant made 15 saves in goal on the day for Stevenson.

The Mustangs finished the season so far 14-4 overall, and 6-1 in regular season MAC Commonwealth play. In the postseason, the Mustangs went 1-1, beating No. 3 seeded Eastern and falling to No. 1 seeded York. Stevenson will stand-by and wait for the NCAA Tournament selection show results to be announced tomorrow evening at 9 p.m. to see if the Mustangs will continue with a ticket to go dancing.
