Men's Volleyball to face No. 4 Stevens in MAC Semifinal

HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Stevenson University men's volleyball team swept Arcadia University, 3-0, in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play-in match on Tuesday night. With the win, the Mustangs advance to the semifinal round of the 2025 MAC Championship and will face top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology on Thursday, April 10, in Hoboken, N.J. This marks Stevenson's first postseason victory since 2021.

Set scores were 25-18, 25-22, and 25-22, with the Mustangs maintaining control throughout. Despite late-set surges by Arcadia in the second and third sets, Stevenson's consistent play on both sides of the ball sealed the sweep.

Anthony Pezzino led the Mustangs' offense with 14 kills, followed by Tim Flanagan with 13 and Ryan Thenell with six. Flanagan has been the offensive anchor for Stevenson all season, tallying 303 kills across 76 sets played.

Corwin Trouteaud tallied three blocks on the defensive end while Adam DeRubertis added two service aces. Setter Connor Roth paced the offense with 38 assists.

Arcadia was led by Cameron Birch with 10 kills and Danny Gonzalez with nine. Riley Kodidek contributed 28 assists and 14 digs for the Knights.

Stevens, currently ranked No. 4 nationally in the AVCA Division III Men's Volleyball Poll, enters Thursday's match with a 23-4 overall record and an undefeated mark in conference play. The last time the Mustangs faced the Ducks, on March 8, Stevenson pushed them to five sets before falling 3-2.

Thursday's semifinal will determine one half of the MAC Championship matchup on Saturday, April 12. The winner will face the victor of the other semifinal between No. 2 Messiah and No. 3 Misericordia. The MAC Champion earns the conference's automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NCAA Division III Championship.
