YORK, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team dropped a close match to host York (Pa.) by a 4-3 score.
Luke Appleman and
Simeon Smith opened up play with a 6-2 win in No. 1 doubles - improving their record to 6-8 on the year. However, the Mustangs would drop the other two doubles matches by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 - giving York a 1-0 heading into singles play.
Appleman cruised to his eighth win of the year, 6-1, 6-1. Smith picked up his sixth win in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 6-4, while
Nate Kelly won his fifth on the year by a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 score.
Dominic Duncan and
Garrett Warren dropped their matches in straight sets.
Nickolas Valis dropped his match in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
The Mustangs (7-8, 3-2 MACC) will look to get back in the win column in a road match against Albright on Friday, April 25 at 3 p.m.
