MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Stevenson University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Rhode Island College on Friday night by scores of 7-2 and 5-1.
In game one, Stevenson led 2-0 after two as Sam Batianciil doubled scoring Christopher Manco and Connor Wilkerson, which accounted for the Mustangs' lone runs of the game.
Dalton Reinhart, Collin Palmieri, Manco, Matt Perri and Batiancila all hit safely in the game.
Brendan Phillips took the loss in relief of John Delgado. Delgado went 4.1 innings striking out six and walking two.
In game two, Stevenson got its lone run in the second as John Padousis singled home Vincent Licor.
Padousis, Graham Sears, Collin Palmieri, Licor and Michael McGarry all hit safely, with Sears, Palmieri and Licor hitting doubles.
Jake Treasure took the loss, striking out five and walking one in five innings of work.
Stevenson finishes its trip to South Carolina on Saturday with a noon game against New England College.
