OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University men's volleyball team punched its ticket to the Middle Atlantic Conference Playoffs on Saturday night, shutting out Eastern 3-0.

Set scores were 25-12, 25-16 and 25-11.

The Mustangs (14-7, 5-2 MAC) hit .373 across the three sets (33-8-67) including a 9-2-14 mark in the third and final set.

On Senior Night, it was fitting that the seniors led the way as Ryan Thenell went 9-1-12 (.667) to lead the Mustangs. He also had three blocks as the Mustangs had seven solo blocks and 12 block assists.

Tim Flanagan had eight kills, with Jacob Sledz netting seven. Doug Hines had 27 assists with Kyle Dietrich netting a match high seven digs.

Thenell, Flanagan, Sledz, Dietrich, Hines and Brian Farrell were all honored prior to the match as they played their final regular season home match.

Stevenson closes the regular season on Saturday at Misericordia with Saint John Fisher. Misericordia and Stevenson will be playing for the third seed in the upcoming playoffs. The loser will play host to the fifth seed in the opening round of the postseason.
