DALLAS, Pa. - The Stevenson University men's volleyball team dropped a pair of games at the Misericordia Tri-Match on Saturday to end the regular season.
In the first game, Stevenson lost to Misericordia (ranked 16th) 3-1, before taking St. John Fisher (ranked 11th) to the limit in a 3-2 loss.Â
With the loss to Misericordia, the Mustangs (14-9, 5-3 MAC) wrapped up the fourth seed in the upcoming MAC playoffs and will host Arcadia on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Misericordia 3, Stevenson 1
Set scores in the opener were 25-23, 20-25, 25-23 and 25-22.Â
Tim Flanagan had 19 kills, with Ryan Thenell having 12. Anthony Pezzino added in eight.Â
Corwin Trouteaud had four blocks to pace Stevenson.Â
Connor Roth had 34 assists with Pezzino adding in 12 digs defensively. JD Sarmuksnis had ten digs while Flanagan had seven.
St. John Fisher 3, Stevenson 2
Stevenson led the match 2-0 after taking the first two sets 29-27, 25-19. However, SJF won the last three sets 27-15, 25-16 and 15-12.Â
Thenell had 17 kills in the second match, while Flanagan and Tanner Laukhuff had 12 each. Flanagan had three aces in the second match, while RC Getteau had five blocks and Thenell added in three.Â
Doug Hines had 45 assists to pace the Mustangs, with Flanagan getting 16 digs. Hines had 12 and Laukhuff had 11.Â
