No. 11 Men’s Lacrosse suffers loss to No. 2 Seagulls

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The No. 11 Stevenson men's lacrosse squad (6-3) fell to the No. 2 Salisbury Seagulls (10-0) 24-9 on Saturday evening in Mustang Stadium.
 
The Seagulls opened the contest with a four-goal run before Hunter Bryant put Stevenson on the board with an assist from Taz Delaney to make it a 4-1 game. Salisbury responded with four more goals to make it an 8-1 game at the end of the first.
 
Salisbury put away three more goals to start the second quarter, before Graeme McCrory found the back of the net to give Stevenson its second goal. The Seagulls would then put five straight goals away to slot a 16-2 game at halftime. 
 
In the third quarter, the Seagulls came out with a four-goal string to make it a 20-2 game. With 7:10 on the clock Bryant put another goal on the board off a ball from Grant Zick, followed by a man-up goal from Dillon Linhardt to make it a four-goal game for the Mustangs. Salisbury then put another goal away to slot a 21-4 game at the end of the quarter. 
 
Zick opened scoring of the final quarter with an assist from Bryant to make it five goals for the Mustangs, followed by John Martin Vince's first collegiate goal at 12:33. About two minutes later, Camden Deming netted his first collegiate goal to put Stevenson at seven goals on the evening. Salisbury responded with three goals, but Vince and Gavin Gossen came back with a goal each to make it a 24-9 game. Despite Stevenson's efforts, the Seagulls walked with the 24-9 win over the Mustangs. 
 
Bryant led Stevenson with a three-point night with two goals and an assist. Zick and Gossen followed with a two-point night from a goal and an assist, as Vince snagged two-points with two goals. Deming, McCrory, and Linhardt each netted a goal in the contest as Delaney dished out an assist. Nicholas Parolin and Tyler Merchant split time in the crease for a combined 12 saves. 
 
The Mustangs prepare to travel up to Pa. to face Elizabethtown in their last nonconference match up of the season. The match-up is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
